Seven-Diagram Tactics——Song Jianshu Solo Exhibition
On May 23, 2015, one hundred thousand space will present song Jianshu's individual exhibition of "seven trigrams array". This exhibition is composed of seven pieces of works called "seven trigrams array".
Many of song Jianshu's working methods use perceptual calculation to test a seemingly standard result. The difference is that it is neither an inference of the past nor a prediction of the future. He only attempts to measure the distance between the body judgment and the universal standard through his works, because he thinks: "it is the existence of this gap that constitutes beauty Learning ".
The one missing from the seven trigrams is the exit he left himself, as a man with feelings and body temperature, under the rule of indifference. If song Jianshu's previous works are to test the accuracy and uniqueness of body feeling, then the new works appearing in this exhibition more show that he intends to re test the uncertainty aesthetics before, and his focus of work has also shifted from doubt on the negation of standards to affirmation and respect for inaccuracy.
Song Jianshu, born in 1982, had more than ten years of modeling training and accumulation before he decided to build his own art in this "competitive" way. Because of some negative experience of the full and almost seamless academic tradition, he chose to start from the basic morphemes of modeling -- length, width, height, volume, capacity, etc., to connect with the whole body The body experience measures and unfolds the time and space that are stacked in these morphemes, and through exchange again and again, finally finds the true place of form at the end of the established value, at the end of the road where they gradually decline or increase.
In his works, there is a subtle shift and transformation of the public scale, and instrumental rationality and its constant become the floating things. When he privatized a unit of measurement in such a way, we were a little surprised to see the subtleties of the unit and the scale itself, which had been curled and repressed in their own prescriptive existence and could not be present at the perceptual moment of things. As far as we have observed up to now, all his good works are presented as a kind of reaction to the shape, or the modeling tension or the reaction force as far as possible. But I am sure that we can't talk about him with the modeling language of "reverse modeling", because the key point has always been, and can only be, that we can't be sure of it. It is in this uncertainty that what song Jianshu has accomplished is close to the playful existence before the poem. If in fact, his attempt will eventually be affirmed, appreciated as beauty and converted into price. Well, of course, we can also say that it is because we have divined so much.
On the opening night of "seven trigrams array" exhibition, curator Wang paopaopao will preside over the audition meeting of song Jianshu's works in sparrow tile house. Different from the regular seminar and opening party, the curator and artist will imagine and share the "seven trigrams array" and other works of song Jianshu through a sound work called "three and a half seconds".
