Island, King and Irritable Love

On December 12, 2015, the exhibition on eroticism created by sun dada and song Jiayin was presented: "island, king and angry love talk".
Since 2000, sun da da da has been working on Jiangxinzhou, a small island in Nanjing. 15 years of solitude on the island gave him absolute freedom to "I am the king on the island". The private experience that nobody knows on the island has released human's original "sex" to the maximum extent, and has brought the artist more excitement and stimulation than usual. At the same time, "sexual symbols" in the sense of painting naturally breed in the body of artists in this excitement and stimulation. However, for sex or eroticism, sun Da Tong is not a passive viewer and producer. Through painting, he is not only the source of "sexual symbols", but also the receiver of "sexual symbols". Such double stimulation or even struggle made sun a typical Chinese literati's description of eroticism.
Unlike sun's many egotism on the island, song Jiayin is a very simple and direct artist. Her works are directly derived from the people or objects related to them. When calm, they are just like dreamy talk and catchwords, and strong parts are "angry love words". Therefore, small size, fragmentation and overlap constitute the main characteristics of her sculpture works in recent years. Her creation does not run through with systematic rationality and logic, but rather the spread of feelings about things around her, which is delicate and sensitive, like emotional tentacles grown by hormones.
However, no matter sun Dadang's creation and reception of "sexual symbols" or song Jiayin's emotional outburst, their erotic descriptions are meaningful because of their participation in narration, and sex or related symbols become "a series of strategies necessary for maintaining a system".
