Jiang Zhuyun solo Exhibition – I talk to the wind
One hundred thousand space will reopen Jiang Zhuyun's solo exhibition "whispers in the wind" on January 14, 2017. The exhibition consists of four groups of works, focusing on the transmission of sound in different environments. The work will open a channel about "how to feel" with the help of the natural medium of "wind".
The exhibition presents four different forms of feeling: the sound of the body, the imaginary horse, the invisible existence and the disappearing sound. Different from the way in which conventional visual works are brought in, these four groups of works do not express their ideas through exact images. Artists hope to introduce the audience into a situation through sound media, so as to open up the body's own reaction mechanism, which is far away from the stimulation and coverage of the audience by conventional visual works. Therefore, perceiving Jiang Zhuyun's works is just like we use our bodies to capture the existence of "wind": the "wind" is always there. If we do not feel the body, it will be easily ignored. Jiang Zhuyun's four groups of works are the way to open up the function and consciousness of the body, just as we exemplify the existence of "wind" -- it can move through trees (under normal conditions), and the tree causes wind.
Jiang Zhuyun's works span many fields of new media art, and the creation and research direction involves various forms: installation, painting, behavior, concept, sound art, field recording and audio visual scene, etc. He has always been good at discovering the poetic relationship between hardware and software systems, and has performed his voice and video works in music festivals and live house.
