Zhu Yingying Solo Exhibition–Nymph
We are very happy to welcome the artist Zhu Yingying's latest solo exhibition "Ningfu", which is also the second presentation of 100000 space for artists. We hope to present the artist's changes in each stage through continuous individual exhibitions. "Ningfu" is an exhibition focusing on the images and paintings recently created by Zhu Yingying. In his recent works, the artist systematically combed the specific botany images, trying to return to the origin of memory and feeling, rethinking the order of things' existence and memory projection, the relationship between the ubiquitous individuals they touched, and the secret narration hidden in the deep green.
Image memory is an important subject of this exhibition. It is based on the artist's continuous collection and arrangement of waste image materials. In the image work memory inhibition (2019), the memory subject is constantly changing, switching back and forth between self and other, space and time, reality and image, image and text. Based on the photos of folk botany research in 1980s, the series of paintings in "depressed and joyful" (2018-2019) depicts the shape of each plant with dark colors, and wakes up the fuzzy connection hidden between the images. "Expectations of the night" (2018) series takes away the subject from each real event scene, presenting the natural scenery after violence in the dislocation of time. "Spread" (2018) series further considers form as memory, disassembles and reorganizes the memory picture mode existing in photography, and realizes the memory reappearance from its relationship with painting.
The exhibition will last until May 31.
